“Lonely Comes Easy” on Tuesday

The big news of the week: Our new single, “Lonely Comes Easy” will be released on Tuesday to radio via Airplay Direct. It will also be available on iTunes. “Lonely Comes Easy” is the title track of our new CD, which comes out officially on August 27th.

Stop By: Saturday July 20 at 11amET – “Viva Nashvegas Radio Show”

If you don’t want to wait that long, though, and you’re anywhere near the Nashville area, come by and see us at the Viva Nashvegas Radio Show this coming Saturday morning. We’ll be playing there, and we’ll have copies of the new CD with us. The Viva Nashvegas Radio show is in reality an internet TV show, hosted by my friend and “cousin” George Hamilton V. It takes place in historic downtown Franklin, TN at Handy Hardware. This show will be a family affair, with my wife Sally Jones joining us. Our daughter Joanna is even going to grace us with a song. Night Drivers Ned Luberecki and Jon Weisberger will be on hand too. The show gets going at 11:00 AM. If you can’t make it in person, because perhaps you live in Wyoming or Scandinavia (both are acceptable excuses) you can see the show replay online.

This Sunday will be fiddle legend Bobby Hicks’ 80th birthday, and we’ll celebrate that tomorrow (Friday) on my classic bluegrass show, “Truegrass.” It airs on Sirius XM’s Bluegrass JunctionFriday 3-6 PM eastern and Sunday 6-9 eastern.

Miles to Go…

The following weekend will find us a long way from home, with shows in Missoula, MT and Moses Lake, WA. See the tour dates page for details.

In case you missed it

In my Wednesday Bluegrass Today column, I continued the series on MC work from the stage, and attempted to answer the question of whether the “Tu Ning” joke has finally run its course, among other stage patter issues.

The photo is one I happened to find on the internet of me, Ned Luberecki, and Jon Weisberger (mostly hidden), playing with Tom T. Hall about 5 years ago, during a Song of the Mountains TV taping.
