Welcome to my brand new web site, and welcome to the inaugural blog post! I’ll make this short, to the point, and with a minimum of typos, just to set the tone for future posts.
There’s more to do, but we’ve recently added lots of new (and old) photos, and new information. Still to come are videos (some musical, some radio-ish, some random, some of cats learning to fetch), a semi-full discography, and more back-catalogue product for sale.
In the meantime, have a look around. Many thanks to Web Developer Extraordinaire, Lisa Jacobi, of Lisa Web Sites for her great work. If you like it, spread the word.
My plan is this: I’d like to update this every Thursday or Friday morning (more often when possible), and always include a link to my column this week in Bluegrass Today (there it was). I’ll also mention a few highlights coming up on Friday’s “Truegrass” show on Sirius XM‘s Bluegrass Junction. Even though I’m on the air every day there, on Friday’s I do the classic bluegrass show “Truegrass” which I produce and pick all the (old and crusty) music for. It’s one of my favourite things that I get to do at Sirius XM.
This week on “Truegrass,” we’ll start off with a tribute to Red Smiley, whose birthday it is on Friday. We’ll kick the show off with Reno & Smiley‘s “Love Please Come Home.” We’ll also honour fiddllin’ Paul Warren, whose birthday is also on Friday, and we’ll get to numerous requests, including some Country Gentlemen, Carter Family, Clyde Moody, Jim Eanes, and lots more. The show airs Friday, at 3:00 PM eastern, with a rebroadcast on Sunday at 6:00 PM eastern.
That’s all for now. Thanks for being among my first visitors.
Oh, and The Night Drivers and I just got back from a successful European tour. Here are a few pictures (more were posted on my Facebook page):
